Material & Production Care
MATERIALS
Trine Tuxen exclusively uses precious metals, including 925 sterling silver, 14K gold plating, 14K solid gold, 18K solid gold, and brass with platinum plating. All materials are nickel-free. Our gold plating is done with 14K gold at a thickness of 2-3 microns.
Because individual body chemistry can affect the longevity of the plating, the lifespan of gold plating will vary from person to person. Please note that fading of gold plating is a natural process and is not considered a defect. We’re happy to offer re-plating services for a reasonable fee, depending on the size of the item.
Additionally, many of our designs have organic shapes, which may collect more dirt and experience oxidation more easily. These styles may require more frequent cleaning.
All diamonds are Top Wesselton VVS / Wesselton VS
Other precious and semi precious stones are all handpicked by Trine Tuxen to ensure best quality and colour.
PRODUCT CARE
Protecting your jewelry - Tips to make it last longer
Avoid direct contact with water. Always remove your jewelry when washing your hands or showering.
Keep away from harmful products. Avoid direct contact with substances that can damage your jewelry, such as soap, hand sanitizer, perfume, oils, and moisturizers. Make-up, perfume, and hairspray contain chemicals that may dull your jewelry's finish.
Store in a dry, sealed space. Keep your jewelry in a dry place, ideally in the sealed plastic bag provided. Silver is a living material and will naturally change over time. Storing it in a sealed bag helps prevent oxidation.
Store separately to avoid scratches. Keep your jewelry pieces separate to protect the delicate surfaces from scratches.
Note that gold plating is not permanent. Gold plating wears off over time, and its longevity varies depending on the acidity of an individual's skin. We offer gold plating refresh services for a fee, depending on the size of the item. Please contact our customer care team or visit one of our stores for assistance.
Use a silver-cleaning bath. For both silver and gold-plated pieces, a silver-cleaning bath can help restore shine. Dry with a soft cloth and finish with an anti-tarnish cloth for extra polish.
Avoid harsh household products. Chlorine, chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and detergents can tarnish or damage your jewelry.
Avoid yanking or pulling on chains.
Handle with care. Be gentle when opening or closing earrings and chains. Avoid yanking or pulling, as these pieces are made from soft materials and can break easily.
